The Queste is a ten meter high tree trunk in Questenberg, a village in the southern Harz (Saxony-Anhalt). At her is a huge wreath of twigs attached and fagot are attached to the ends of the cross, called tassels. The Queste stands above the village on a towering cliff. The twigs are annually renewed Pentecost Monday at sunrise to give protection and blessing.
